Life Sciences Talent Cafe - October 2012

Insights into career options for PhDs outside academia

On Wednesday 3 October 2012 representatives from Forbion Capital Partners (venture capital) and  TEVA pharmachemie (pharmaceutical industry) presented overviews of their core activities in the Netherlands and possible career paths for PhDs at their organizations. This edition we also provided insights into working in the non-profit sector as we also hosted a speaker from the Aids fonds.

PhD students and postdocs, are you fully aware of your career options?

You may consider working for a company but what positions do PhDs actually fulfil? Biobusiness is different from academia, it is therefore wise to get acquainted with it before you make a move in your career.

PCDI and the Amsterdam Biomed Cluster organize Life Sciences Talent Cafes, specifically for early career researchers to gain insights into careers in the Dutch Life Science sector, from R&D intensive companies to business that support the industry and academia.

Join us at this networking event to get insights into the diversity of career options for PhDs, obtain the background information you need to find out whether a career at a company would suit you, learn what competences are required to make yourself attractive for the employers and make new contacts in the biobusiness!

The Talent Cafe is interactive and includes a meet 'n greet session, therefore it is a unique opportunity to ask all your questions and to network with PhDs from the industry and non-profit sector.
