Sjoerd van den Berg PhD

Clinical Chemist resident, Amphia Hospital, Breda

berg_s_smallSjoerd obtained his PhD in endocrinology/human genetics at the LUMC in Leiden. Afterwards he continued as a postdoc at the LUMC in the same research field. As a PhD student/postdoc he (co)-authored ~30 peer reviewed research papers (h-index: 8), and set up a large international academic/industrial collaboration.

In 2012 he started to work as a Clinical Chemist resident at Amphia Hospital, Breda; one of the largest hospitals in the Netherlands. This 4 year rigorous postdoctoral training is obligatory to attain a NVKC accredited position of clinical chemist (Klinisch chemicus), and trains the postdoctoral fellow for the position of head of a (clinical) laboratory.
