Marloes Schepens PhD

schepens_m_smallMarloes Schepens studied Biomedical Sciences at the Radboud University Nijmegen. In 2005 she started her PhD-project ‘Nutritional modulation of intestinal inflammation’ within the Top Institute Food and Nutrition, which she carried out at NIZO food research in Ede. She obtained her PhD-title in 2011 at Maastricht University. Subsequently, she worked as a scientist in gut biology at Danone Research in Wageningen.

Since 2013 she is working as scientific assessor consumer safety at Ctgb (Board for the Authorisation of Plant Protection Products and Biocides) in Wageningen. In this position Marloes provides expert assessment of plant protection products, thereby ensuring safety for public health, and contributing to the responsible use of pesticides at the national and European level.
