Luc Rietveld PhD

Staff Member, Advisory Council for Science and Technology Policy (AWT)

rietveld_l_smallAs a student, Luc worked at the EMBL in Heidelberg. In 1999 he obtained his PhD at Utrecht University in the field of gene regulation. After finishing his PhD he did a post-doc at the Radboud University for four years. After his research period Luc switched to the science & innovation policy field. He worked in the field of science funding at ZonMw and NWO/NGI.

Currently he is a staff member at the Advisory Council for Science and Technology Policy (AWT). AWT is a government advisory council. Currently he is involved in the evaluation of NWO and he advises the minister (OCW& EZ) and government on science and innovation policy issues. To write advises, he has lots of engagements with public and private stakeholders in the Netherlands and in Europe.

Luc Rietveld participated in the speed date session of the PCDI Postdoc Retreat Life Sciences 2013.
