Kirsten Ampt PhD

Program Officer STW

After finishing her PhD in chemistry in York, Kirsten moved back to the Netherlands and started work as a postdoc when she realised that aiding others to perform their research was something she preferred to actually doing research herself.

In 2012 she therefore started working at NWO Chemical Sciences. At the end of 2013 she moved to Technology Foundation STW where she currently works as a Program Officer.

STW aims to fund innovative research with a potential for utilization, bringing researchers and users together in each project. As a Program Officer Kirsten combines organization skills with scientific and Intellectual Property knowledge and she keeps up to date with current innovative research without actually having to do the lab work herself.

Kirsten Ampt participated in the speeddate session of the PCDI Postdoc Retreat Life Sciences 2014.
