Ruben Sharpe PhD

Program Officer at Technology Foundation STW

Ruben Sharpe obtained his PhD in the field of surface science from the University of Twente in 2006. He spent the first few years outside academia researching optochemical sensors at Holst Centre.

Following his broad interests, via two years of environmental consulting with TNO and even a year as a high school science teacher, he eventually landed as a program officer at STW.

In this role he is responsible for organizing calls for research proposals, for managing the process for appraising such proposals and for managing and coordinating a portfolio of ongoing research projects with a focus on valorization. As a bonus he keeps getting to satisfy a part of his curiosity in the process.

Ruben Sharpe participated in the speeddate session of the PCDI Retreat 2014 STEM.
