Jeroen Warnaar PhD

 

Forensic expert, Dutch Forensic Institute



While studying Biology at Utrecht University, Jeroen Warnaar (1975) developed an interest in palaeoecology (biogeology). He finished two graduate research projects, one at the Laboratory of Paleobotany and Palynology and another in the Organic Geochemistry group.

In 2001 he graduated cum laude and worked a for few months as a policy officer at the Faculty of Biology at Utrecht University. Later that year he started his PhD at the Laboratory of Paleobotany and Palynology.

In the last year of his doctorate he worked part-time as a university teacher in the Psychopharmacology group at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

From 2007 onwards Jeroen works for the Dutch Forensic Institute as a forensic expert in human biological traces and DNA research.
