PCDI aims to facilitate Postdocs and PhD students in the funding process, but the list of contacts is surely not complete.
If your institute is not listed above, funding may be available but it will take more time to identify the funding source. This may differ from project level to institutional level.

You may want to check whether the following applies to you:

  • Personal budget for personal development (see article 3.2 of the CAO academic medical centres)
  • Policy for sustainable employability and broader career perspectives for scientific staff (see article 2a and 3 of the CAO universities):
  • 2% regeling voor opleiding en ontwikkeling (Wageningen UR)
  • Transition budget: Available for employees of VU, Radboud University and Tilburg University. As of 1 January 2018, employees of public universities will be entitled to a transition payment as is the case with special universities by analogy with Sections 7:673 and 7:673a of the Dutch Civil Code, provided that the date of dismissal is after 31 December 2017.

First step to take is to speak with your supervisor/line manager and HR department. When you express your wish to work on your career and professional development, academic institutes often are positive towards this and will support you in identifying (a combination of) funding resources for training.

If you pay the fee yourself, it is good to know that expenses on career courses are tax deductible as eductation expenses. For full details we refer you to the Tax Office [Belastingdienst].
